WHAT IS SIDEBAND ?

HOW DOES "SKIP" OCCUR ?

ALFA TANGO
(largest DX group in the world)
(UNDER REVISION)
Welcome to my DX zone. What is a DX'er - Well, sometimes on the radio the correct conditions exist allowing long distance communications
(see how does skip occur) and many take the opportunity to make contact (Normally on SSB) with stations in their own country or other
countries which aren't normally accessible. Its a great way of making friends in different countries and a QSL card is normally the result of a
sucessful DX and some of these are highly desirable and collectable. Unfortunately in the UK it isn't permitted to use SSB on CB so it can only
be legally done on FM on the mid or UK band. It is possible. Taking the Foundation licence for Amateur radio will allow you sideband DX. When
the conditions are up 10m (28.000MHz to 29.700MHz) is a great DX band.

I used to run a PO Box for people who had no clubs in their area but over the last 5 years the cost of a PO Box has leapt from around £60 a
year to around £250. Royal Mail being too greedy? To be honest it has ended quite a few small groups boxes so I normally only DX on 10m
now and use the RSGB QSL Card service.
